I'm delighted to be able to reveal that, to much displeasure in certain quarters, Crocs will be making a comeback in 2012 - much as I predicted about 6 years ago.

cheers

Did they ever go away?

(I'll get in the first cousin of the crocodile sandwich joke and ask: are for snappy dressers?)

I read elsewhere that there was going to be new styles brought out as the originals are so fugly.
I will admit to owning a pair of ballet pump style crocs that I bought off my daughter (they didn't fit her properly) and they are useful for wearing in the garden and on the beach. I wash them in the sink or or washing machine and they are as good as new.
I wouldn't be seen in the street in them as they make an odd sucky sound when your feet get sweaty

As streetwear I believe they did for the reasons weejan suggests.

As beachwear they're unequaled. The article I read suggested the manufacturers might make them a bit less robust nowadays 'cos the damn thing just don't wear out.

I somehow remember the notion that crocs were said to be good by nurses and many others always on their feet.   Don't know whether that is true or not.  I can well believe it is, though.

But anyway, how much are they different from ye olde wood and leather clogs (which I certainly wore, even if the rest of you don't want to admit you did)?        Smilie_PDT

I think I will consider buying a pair if I see them:  anything that unpopular must be worth a thought.  Or shall I just get back to ye olde smurf clogs?      happy7

Oh the fun of fashion, keeps the newspapers and our heads filled with trash.

The photie also looks as though, beachwear be damned, they are the very thing to kick your printer with.   Not wise, wouldn't you get sore toes?
