That's debatable.

Onny  - I would be glad to welcome you to the Borders, no matter your outfit.  Would you be tempted perhaps by the music or the whisky?

I'm always tempted by music and whisky but, as is well known hereabouts, I only ever travel south of the river in the pursuit of alcohol and sex. A quick swatch at my Collins Atlas of have it away day destinations suggests Melrose is well south of the Clyde.

C'mon Onny, rise to the challenge.  Theere will be plenty of wine/whisky, women and song.  We already have the precedent of Thomas going for a kip under the Eildon Tree and then explaining to his wife three days later he'd been away wi' the faeries.
Look out your bus timetables  - for the next train to arrive here will be the 2012 (the year that is) from Embra.

Perhaps
I'll leave Glasgow in the morning – slip away without warning- Save a hand-clasp to the friends who know the call that leads me on; In Glasgow's clang and clatter one old man the less won’t matter;  no one here will say me nay, nor care that I am gone.

Onny - gonny no dae that - Ye'll have me greetin'  - I know I will

Ah um!  Greetin! angel5
