Flat pipes session

Please excuse my first post being a shameless plug. I am hoping to start an Irish session playing with B and C pitch uilleann pipes.  The 1st meeting is planned for Aug 2nd 1pm in Paisley. Not just for pipers. Any trad musicians in Paisley? The biggest town in Scotland and nothing going on there, surely there must be a whistle player in Paisley.

Thanks for looking

I see to recall pointing out over on Simone's that Paisley is officially a refugee camp.

That said, I wouldn't visit without offering a suggestion. You know about the #9 bus?
Rid Sonja

Surely you don't need people living in Paisley to come to your session?  Surely you need people who either live in Paisley or are willing to travel to Paisley to your session.

There's a guy who comes into Morrisons who plays fiddle that lives in Paisley.  He's obviously been away from playing for a while but he know what note he's looking for, just sometimes misses it a bit.  Practice will sort him out, and he's dead keen.  He joins in with everything - song or tune, to the great enjoyment of everyone.

I'll tell him about your sesh...as long as he continues to come to Morrisons!!     cheers

Zat you being your usual engaging self Onny?

Well you wouldn't want someone's first post to languish unanswered, would you?

The trouble wi Paisley is that hauf the cunts there are economic migrants fae war zones like Darfur and Dumbarton, there's bampot churches on every other corner and the polis hunt in fours.

D'ye mind the tale o the Buddy whose hoose got burgled. there wisnae much tae steal but the bastirds shit in his pan o' mince - puir cunt hud tae throw hauf uv it awa.

Mind, it's haundy fur Gleniffer Braes.
Rid Sonja

Ah but, it wizny gonny languish was it?

And just because there's one useless excuse for a human being there doesn't mean that all Paisley people are...not all of them...
Onny

Yer right. One of my two redhead birthday present blowjob is from Paisley cheers
Redlornie

At least 3 good things came out of Paisley - Danny Kyle, Gerry Rafferty - and me.
Good luck with your wee sesh Ken, you're right that something of this nature is well overdue in Paisley.

Great as long as he's not the guy who was spotted sitting on top of the bus shelter at 07.30 AM yesterday outside another supermarket in Paisley.

Paisley seems to have a bit of a reputation and probably deservedly but there's some lovely people there too you just have to know where to look.
Oh and yes others from outside Paisley are more than welcome it's only 10 minutes from Glasgow on a Sunday unless you get lost.
Thanks
Onny

10 minutes and 50 years.

Slightly more seriously. Ken might do well to post his request over on Footstompin' http://www.footstompin.com

He's been beaten to it by somebody called BigDavy doing exactly the same thing in the same place.

What sorta coincidence is that?

Looks like he got his shit together efter aw'.

A new Uilleann Pipers session will be beginning on Sunday 2 August at 1pm, upstairs at the Paisley Arts Centre in New Street, Paisley.

Organiser, Ken  ************* would like to invite any Uilleann pipers or instrumentalists interested in playing predominantly Irish session tunes to come along. He is also encouraging beginners to attend as there are no sessions in Paisley yet.

Good on ye Ken.
BigDavy

Are you coming along Onny?, you would be most welcome.
