NEW site! ~ 'Scottish Traditional Musicians'

If you miss the old 'Sound Lantern' website, as a useful place for posting MP3s of your own music & networking with other musicians, then you might be interested in this new website, which was just launched today!

Scottish Traditional Musicians

On this new site, each member has their own page where they can:
1 ~ POST PHOTOS of their Scottish Music experiences and instruments.
2 ~ POST MP3s of their own Scottish Music.
3 ~ POST VIDEOS of themselves playing Scottish Music.
4 ~ NETWORK with other musicians who play Scottish Music.

N.B. Non members only have access to the Main Page, which means all members music, photos etc is private, so only other members can view or listen to it.

Please also note that, although there are Forum facilities, they are only a minor feature, which is fine, because let's face it, who needs another forum!

Instead, I imagine this new site might prove to be most useful & popular, among musicians who are far from the auld sod, or are rather isolated from other Scottish Musicians.

I've not had a chance to explore it properly but that looks like a seriously good site and a useful resource.

Thanks for sharing it Ptarmigan.
Ptarmigan

Thanks.

Unfortunately, unlike the forum set up, I'm unable to let non-members just wander through the site, which is a shame really.

So either, the whole place is open to every Tom, Dick & Harry { no offence to Tom & Harry! } or only members can see past the Main Page.
As some members have requested, for safety reasons, that their stuff be kept for members eyes only, I feel I have no choice but to keep members pages & stuff for members eyes only.

That may result in a smaller membership, but at least it'll help to keep out the SPAM HEADS, who incidentally totally destroyed two of my previous forum ventures!

Cheers
