Any observations?  We've not heard much from Contoversial Negro lately, for instance....

I note blues x man has been getting the sort of chastisement I used to get over on Simone's.

He is but an amateur by comparison.

STMA

<If I'd won>There's nothing wrong with the awards - it's just a bit of fun, but it should be taken seriously. It's raising the profile of Scots traditional music, and that's no bad thing. And because I have won, it's a fair reflection of the impact I've made on traditional music in Scotland. I've won. The other nominees were worthy enough, but basically losers. No, it was nothing to do with my canvassing people until they were sick hearing about it.</If I'd won>

<Since I didn't win>Of course it's all about who has the biggest mailing list, who can drum up the most support. Nothing to do with merit, or anything, to be frank. We all know it's load of shite, and I can't believe people take it so seriously.</Since I didn't win>

So very well said, Nigel. hello1

Many moons ago, my next-door neighbour was a wonderful old Welsh gentleman by the name of Arwyn Jones, who had been Head of English at the local grammar school. Every New Year's Day, I would go over, to wish him all the best for the coming year, and he would point to the front page of The Times and say, in his educated Llanelli lilt, "The bastards have left me off the list again - they wouldn't know quality, if it kicked them up the arse!" - he would then pour us each a large whisky and we'd talk about more important things. I suppose these events give the great and the good a chance to get their gladrags on, but does anyone really give a flying one? Smilie_PDT

Now, if there was a "daftest bunnet" category, I'd fancy my chances! bounce

Some of the worst titfers I've seen have been on wannabee turf accountants.

Affy quiet in here. Could certainly do with a little spicing up and all that trazz.
