Session Tudor Hotel Airdrie

We went to the sesh in Harry's Bar in the Tudor hotel in Airdrie last night. (Monday)

It's a singing/mixed session, welcoming, and a no-bad wee night.

Worth a visit if you're away your holidays to Airdrie.

Edited to fix typos and please thee pedant who Pm'd me about it .

Jeezo!

I used to go to a session in Airdrie on a Monday, I think it was the Cellar Bar.I wonder if it's the same folk that used to go that now go to the Tudor.
Catskinner

It's possible.

I went out with Raddy who was in Diggery Venn with Bill Sherry, one of the session regulars, and he was telling me the session's had a couple of othe venues.

No doubt he'll tell you more himself when he logs in next.

OK. Change them back and fuck up the search function if you're that bothered.

I't is indeed the same crowd, over the years they, like many sessions have had a migratioy life as pubs change hands.

Other than Bill I only have first names for most of them, but the range of players is good ranging from good to beginer. It tends to be predominantly male, the only women present on occasions when I've been there are the ones in my company.

Most of the players play more than one instrument, and on one occasion while I was singing I looked round to see playing with me, fiddle, whistle precussion, mootie, cittern, banjo, mandolin and my guitar.

The songs and tunes are predominatley 60s folk and Eric Bogle, but that just reflects the tastes of the players, anyone seems to be welcome to bring anything to the table.

Aye, sounds familiar, I could probably put a name or two to those players. I'll pop over soon, I've had some enjoyable nights in their company.
