Seconded!       Smilie_PDT

Keep on getting better, even when they cut you up to look at your insides.    Smilie_PDT

As long as they do it properly and don't, after operations are done, find that "Oh no!  A wee spare bit! Where did that come from?"

Cyber grapes and and flowers and all that.    Smilie_PDT

I can't but say how delighted I am to see CJ looking so well. I think I'd expected to see a Bergen minus the canvas stretched across his back.

Warm thoughts tonight as ever.

Thanks for the good wishes guys, here and elsewhere.

It wis nearly lights oot - or mebbe endin up gettin sneered at by some of the more twisted inhabitants of certain postcodes fur attendin public events in a wheelchair.

As it turns oot, although I have no idea whose legs ah'm werrin, the physios are determined I shall walk again an wull be roon later tae annoy the fuck oota me wi a hing called a pulpit walker that makes ye go like Steve Zodiac impersonatin Ian Paisley.

Is a "Pulpit Walker" something like a Zimmer frame, support for walking till your legs get back to the idea again after being stuck in hospital bed for a while?   So, seeing as how popular lore always has it that a positive attitude is good, mibbe you might want to emulate Mr. Zimmerman rather than that scary git Paisley.   (Is he even still alive?)  Well, you've got your guitar, so that's a start.

For the sake of all that is good or sensible in the world, please don't come out of the hospital being Ian Paisley.             Because then all sane and good people will chase you right back in again and you wouldn't like that, oh no!

Oh and if you do need a wheelchair for a while, remember what fun can be had in a wheelchair.   You know how car drivers can be vicious and bad towards cyclists (and pedestrians)?   Aha, people with wheelchairs can get away with being very scary and dangerous to pedestrians and absolutely everybody.     With impunity.  So if you have to be in Tesco or similiar, or just going along the street, anybody you don't like, you just ever-so-accidentally happen to run over their toes.   Smilie_PDT   (N.B. I do not mean to suggest that wheelchair users actually do this:  it's just that it is what I would do if I were in a wheelchair.  Because I am not very nice person.)

Oh, keep getting well, and do everything the medics tell you to do.  With the possible exception of eating the food, 'cos I'm very sure the food that wee Mrs. C.J. brings in is a whole lot healthier.

The whole point of hospital 'food' is to make you want to go home as soon as possible.

anyway, I am glad to see you looking well after your trials and tribulations. What about getting one of those quingos till you're sorted for walking? They look quite good on the adverts.

Very glad to see CJ posting again, even if it is because he's "still banged up" and miffed at missing Partick folky thingwie in the "Shameless Plugs" bit.

So how's it going?  All very good wishes annat.  Clearly they ("they" being the medics and nurses of Great Powerfullness)  haven't stopped you from using laptop, so simply to see CJ posting again is good.    It won't be a speedy recovery, but getting better even slowly, that's all fine.  Well, admittedly for a given value of "fine" - one that includes pain and annoyance,  Oh wait, it's never called "pain", is it?   It's "discomfort".   Smilie_PDT  (I always wonder about this, 'cos I'm damn sure that doctors do not scream out "oh, I think I might be experiencing a slight bit of discomfort" when what they mean is "Oy, oh shit, that's bloody sore, so it is".)

If CJ has to stay in hospital for a while, and misses things he'd like to go to, then I wouldn't be at all surprised to see an announcement somewhere soon of a hospital folk festival.

Pay at the door.

Ticket Price - X

Payment can also be made in (actual non-hospital) food*

All welcome**

*"Food" does not include any more bloody grapes.

**"All" does not include hospital padres or similar.

Very best wishes for recovery, and if there was ever a good time to be stuck in hospital away from the world, this might be it. Insofar as not having to encounter all these jolly happy "queen jubilee" celebrations, I mean.  Smilie_PDT  Although I somehow think that Glasgow won't really be full of such shite, but you never can tell.

Awrrabest!   Smilie_PDT

Actually it's time ah made it public an here's as good a time an place tae let it oot.

Ah'd been keepin it under wraps for a while till family an a few others were appraised o the situation, - which is a reason ah've no been aboot much - an no answerin PMs as it turns oot Fairy. Ah'm sure ye'll understand.

The way Ah'm huvin tae sit the noo makes it awkward tae type an aw, so A'll be brief.

Ah'm dyin folks.

The thing on mah back turnt oot tae be a cancer derived fae the melanoma in mah eye.

Thir's other bits o it in mah lungs and thir's still some on the spine.

It's an aggressive cunt that sneers at treatment. If it wis jist the bits in mah lungs, prognosis is an average o 6-12 months. The presence on the spine throws a spanner inty that prediction.

Those close tae me wull know ah've been preparin for this fur 5 years, an wanna the advantages o cancer owwer gettin hit wi a bus as a means o shufflin aff yer mortal coil is that ye usually get get a wee bit  time tae discuss things wi yer pals afore ye go.

Ah'll no be up fur much the the the day, but ah wull be in an oot.

And elsewhere an aw.

See yese efter.

That took a lot of guts to post, this is going to sound extremely selfish but I'm glad you did. I've been very angry with the world over the head of your news for a while. Now you have posted and it is out in the open you have managed to once more, in your inimitable fashion, help other people. You are a fine example of a man, make no mistake.

As many of you here know, I am the one that CJ has spent the last 27 years with, and what a wonderful adventure that journey has been to date. I'm fully expecting that the adventure isn't over until the fat lady sings - and that day is not today!

Shit, fuck, damn and blast.   Very brave post, CJ.   One is never clear what to say, but I promise to cut out the Pollyanna shit now.

Is there a chance to move from hospital to home (if suitable arrangements can be made) or a hospice thingy?   At any rate, Mrs. CJ will be a strong voice to fight your corner for whatever choices you want to make.

I'm very sorry to hear this:  I hope they keep you sorted out with enough painkiller drugs and whatever comfort possible.
