I am so sorry to read this news and am lost for words.

But I would like to say that from my recent experience, I agree with Celyn. You can have a hospital bed brought to your home as well as other useful items. Ask if there is a care service available, we had 24 hour care and district nurses as well as visits from a Macmillan nurse which made a big difference to the family. RS will be able to get some sleep if she knows that someone is sitting awake (although it is a bit odd having strangers in your house whilst you are in bed). Take all the help that is offered, you will appreciate it.

I want to say how grateful I am to both of you for the helpful advice that you have given me over the past few years, when I was poorly and then my husbands last illness - although we have never met, I knew that you were on the end of a private message to keep me going.  I will never forget your kindness, thank you so much. xx

Thank you WJ.

I'm glad that any small thing that we did helped you through a very difficult and hugely stressful time.  You will understand how I'm feeling at this time, I'm sure.

Does it have "go-faster" stripes?  And mibbe sharp blades on the wheels to make sure no-one gets in his way?      And possibly a tacky sign saying "my other wheelchair is a Porsche".      bounce

And fluffy dice!    (I wonder if anyone ever made fluffy Rubik cubes.  That would be sort of cute (well, for five minutes or so).

Oh wait, no point in CJ doing it up like a car, should be a bike, really.  All righty, a basket a bell that rings and things to make it look good.

Hot off the press - all being well over the weekend, our boy is getting home on Monday. He's still spiking the odd temp but the home care team should be able to deal with that, along with family and friends.

And check out the "shameless plugs" section for the big event....

Ken has agreed that I give you a wee update. He's at home being looked after by family and friends. He hasn't been so well the last few days and is clearly becoming less well gradually. He did tell me to pass on his appreciation for all the kind thoughts and good wishes. It does look very unlikely that he will be able to attend the testimonial concert but he is up to speed on how this is progressing and is very grateful to those who are giving up their time to organise/play on the 28th.

I shall convey your good wishes to the man himself when I see him in the next day or so.

Thanks for letting us know, but how painful for you to post.   :(    Shit.  I thought he'd have more time.   I'm glad he had some time out of hospital and at home.   How terrible for Mrs. CJ. and everyone.
